THE CONCEPT

For its 25th Anniversary, the Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup is ramping up its efforts.
It is getting ready to celebrate the occasion with gusto: a new calendar, higher rewards, a unique scholarship system targeted at young talent, and… a completely new 911 GT3 Cup. Faster, larger, and more powerful, and with more effective aerodynamics, the 2011 model joins in the great tradition of its illustrious predecessors: a true race car developed from the standard version. The 2009, 2008 and 2007 models will also be accepted with different challenges, classifications, and prizes.

There is no shortage of news in 2011. In addition to a unique event which will gather 200 automobiles over the 25 kilometers and no fewer than 73 turns of the Nordschleife (Nürburgring), this season marks the launch of a challenge called «Young Talent» of which the objective is to encourage the emergence of young drivers. As for Gentlemen Drivers, they will compete for the keys to a Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid under Challenge Matmut and Porsche Intelligent Performance. A trophy will reward the driver having found the best compromise between performance, fuel economy, and reliability.

With new drivers and new teams alongside veterans, the Porsche Matmut Carrera Cup promises to be even more exciting !
